Hodson's Colombian Adoption Journey

This blog will document our journey in beginning our family through a Parent-Initiated Adoption from ICBF in Colombia. We will mark the stages and key events along the way as well as blog frequently from Colombia after we receive the call of our lives.

It's been a long day and I'm berry tired!

As you can see, we are back with photos!

We've had very nice days the last two days spending time with Monica's cousins. On Sunday they took us to breakfast and then we had an evening cookout with their extended families as well. Today we spent a good amount of this afternoon running around Bogota, helping us with our camera situation amongst other errands.

So the camera is now in an authorized Canon service location being fixed and will be ready next Monday. Obviously a week with no camera during this amazing time in our lives is just not something we can stand for, so we purchased a new little Canon to tide us over and also to give us a more compact option for when we are out and about town. You might ask why did we purchase another Canon? Well, first of all we just plain like them and second the problem with the first one it turns out is not a result of poor quality. Let's just say that "user error" from nearly 18 months ago finally caught up with the camera.

Since we only got the camera up and running this evening, you'll have to enjoy this wonderful photo of Gabriela passed out cold after a long and fun day. We have an appointment with the Bogota Director of ICBF first thing in the morning tomorrow so wish us luck both with the appointment but also just getting up and out that early in the morning with our little angel.

Good luck! You'll do fine, and then, off to court! By the way, send some details about what you do in your meeting so we can prepare :)

Wow! I don't look online for a few days then BAM! A bonita baby girl with our two favorite people. I know you have heard congrats a billion times, but Patti and I are so happy for you both. I can't wait until Uncle Eric gets to teach Gabriela some spanish. Monica, please teach her the art of making Nacho Delight. This will ensure her a good man that will always take care of her when she is a woman. Keep the pictures coming!

Now I'm not so sure you should have her haircut. Because really.... How freaking cute will she be with pig tails!!!!!!!!! Just look at those cheeks - I'm going to be the obnoxious aunt who always pinches them!

What a little angel! This picture is so sweet. Babies are beautiful all day long, but especially adorable when they are sound asleep and looking peaceful like Gabriela does.

    Love,
    Antoinette
